With a perfect combination of sweet and salty, a White Chocolate Snack Mix is the absolute best kind of snack mix ever!
“Mom, I need to bring something to the class party tomorrow.” Have you ever heard that phrase? No? Maybe it’s just me. Anyway, those words are enough to stop you in your tracks. I have been known to say, “Sorry, I need more notice than that”. Or I could always make up a batch of simple Snickerdoodles or even some White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Cookies. Those are really good options and they are both even gluten free. But, let’s be honest for a minute. I don’t always want to spend my evenings in the kitchen baking cookies. I love my kids but sometimes…
Anyway, that is where this White Chocolate Snack Mix comes in. There is no baking involved and hands-on time is literally about 5 minutes. You can easily make an amazing treat for the party without having to spend your evening in the kitchen. The added bonus is that it is also gluten free! Not only is it great for classroom parties, this White Chocolate Snack Mix is also a perfect homemade gift for family and friends. Of course, it is not just for Christmas, although the green and red M&M’s are really fun. You can use any M&M’s you want and make this amazing treat any time of year. Why limit yourself?
This White Chocolate Snack Mix is super easy to make. It is just a matter of mixing Cheerios, Corn Chex, and peanuts with the melted white chocolate and oil and adding the M&M’s. Just remember to add the M&M’s last. While it may be true that they “melt in your mouth and not in your hands”, they definitely melt when you pour melted white chocolate directly on them! It will still leave you with a tasty treat, just not as pretty. Adding the M&M’s last gives the chocolate a chance to cool a bit so everything mixes up nicely.
I feel like I should warn you, though. You are going to want to taste test this snack mix. But, this stuff should actually be called Christmas Crack! I’m serious. This is the single most addictive thing I have ever had in my kitchen! I actually had to banish myself from the kitchen before I ate a whole pan by myself. Although, I may or may not have gone back for more later.
